43x94 Movement Research is…

Exploring familiar places and spaces that are ever changing.

Finding new memories in the old, echoes of what was, still is & can be.

Building landscapes seen & unseen through dance.

A note from founder Karen Christ Aalgaard:

I have felt stuck since the sudden loss of my mother and my father’s failing health due to Parkinson’s Disease. Always putting myself last to make sure everyone else was taken care of and unable to more forward in life. Finally I have found the courage to take a step forward and begin a new pathway in my dance career - creating. I hope you join me on this new journey.

2025 - a new year of courage.

Since writing ‘A note from founder…” in late 2023 the year of 2024 passed in a blur. I am proud to say 43x94 held our first movement festival and film premiere in July with 99 people and 1 dog in attendance. We also had the honor to perform for my Dad - he had not seen me dance (besides around his nursing home room) since 2018. On September 30th he passed away peacefully with my sister and me by his side. Creation from grieving is powerful. New inspirations have sparked from reading his old letters and sharing fond memories of him and our family. Hope to see you later this year at the next 43x94 Movement Festival!
